HONOLULU (AP) — A man responsible for a series of break-ins and a sexual assault at the University of Hawaii has pleaded no contest to the sexual assault of a woman in her Waikiki apartment.
Twenty-two-year-old Mark Heath pleaded guilty last year to breaking into UH dorm rooms and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old coed in 2007.
The Waikiki woman was assaulted earlier that year.
The former Schofield Barracks soldier was linked to the Waikiki case through a DNA sample taken after he admitted to the university crimes.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Thalia Murphy said yesterday that she will seek a 60-year prison term for Heath.
He is to be sentenced in January by Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario.
