HONOLULU (AP) — Honolulu paramedics have treated and released 16 to 20 people in the wake of a student brawl at Waianae High School.
The city's Emergency Services Department spokesman, Bryan Cheplic, says the injured complained of a number of ailments -- including being exposed to pepper spray.
Police say yesterday morning's brawl involved 20 students.
Three girls and a boy were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct. They were taken to the Kapolei police substation and released to their parents.
Lisa DeLong is superintendent of the district complex area that includes Waianae High School.
She says rumors apparently precipitated the fight, but she didn't know what the rumors were about.
