HONOLULU (AP) _ The Honolulu Board of Realtors reports single-family home resales on Oahu declined 8.3 percent last month compared with October 2007.
At the same time, it says condominium resales plummeted 25.3 percent.
The board noted median sales prices were up in comparison to September.
The October median sales price for homes climbed 5.9 percent to $625,000, while the median price for condos increased 9.8 percent to $325,000.
Board President Dana Chandler says the increased median prices are a good sign of the strength of Oahu's housing market.
In comparing the first 10 month of 2008 with the same time period in 2007, home sales wee off 24.3 percent and condo sales were down 26.8 percent.
