HILO, Hawaii (AP) _ Big Island police have released, pending further investigation, three people arrested after officers found an apparent bomb while serving an arrest warrant at a home in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.
With Schofield Barracks bomb experts on hand, officers re-entered the home Wednesday.
Police say they recovered nine altered training hand grenades, about four pounds of black powder, three rifles, ammunition, fireworks and two threaded metal pipes.
The three people were held overnight before being released yesterday.
The initial discovery led police to order an evacuation affecting about ten homes. Residents were allowed to return to their homes Wednesday evening.
