HONOLULU (AP) _ Barack Obama's Hawaii supporters get a chance to be with the soon-to-be Democratic presidential nominee Tuesday night.
About 500 people are lined up to attend the sold-out event at the Kahala Hotel & Resort.
Tickets to attend the fundraiser were $2,300. Supporters who gave a $10,000 donation will have a private reception with Obama after dinner.
Obama and his family are on their fifth day of vacation in Hawaii.
So far, the presidential candidate has visited his grandmother, sister and high school classmates. He also went to the movies, the beach, the gym and played a round of golf on one of Oahu's less-expensive courses.
It's rare for presidential candidates to visit Hawaii but Obama had a special reason to come with family and roots in the islands.
