Jasmine Trias advances to final 12 on "Idol"

(Honolulu-AP) -- Jasmine Trias of Mililani advanced Wednesday night to the final 12 of ``American Idol.''
The 17-year-old senior at Maryknoll School told host Ryan Seacrest she was overwhelmed after he announced her name.
Trias will join 18-year-old Camile Velasco of Maui and ten other finalists on the Fox T-V show. Another contestant from Hawaii -- 22-year-old Jonah Moananu of Kalihi -- was eliminated last week.
The finalists are chosen by the television audience. But the show's three judges -- Simon Cowell, Pala Abdul and Randy Jackson -- had predicted Trias would advance.
