Shippers call for Superferry to resume Kauai service

HONOLULU (AP) _ Food industry officials say the Hawaii Superferry should resume its runs to Kauai.
They say the shutdown of Aloha Airlines cargo services underscores the need for the ferry alternative to ship goods to and from the Garden Island.
Love Bakery President Mike Walters says his shipment of bakery goods to Kauai had to go from Oahu via California and was being held up in Los Angeles.
Dick Bottie of the Hawaii Food Industry Association sent a note to the governor's office, asking for help with getting Superferry back to Kauai.
But opponents of the Superferry on Kauai say they still don't want the service.
Superferry officials have made no commitment on restarting their Kauai route and have added a second Maui run instead.
