HONOLULU (AP) _ A Hawaii Air National Guard pilot is uninjured after the F-15 he was piloting crashed about 60 miles off the coast of Oahu.
The crash occurred around 1:37 p.m. The pilot ejected before the crash and was rescued a short time later.
The incident comes just a few weeks after the Hawaii Air National Guard resumed flying its F-15s.
Like the rest of the Air Force, the Guard had grounded all of its F-15s after the catastrophic failure of an F-15C during a routine training flight in Missouri in November.
The Air Force, and the Hawaii Guard, returned most of its F-15s to the air by January after completing inspections of the planes.
