HONOLULU (AP) _ The parent company of interisland carrier go! airlines faced the biggest sell-off of airline stock yesterday.
The downturn came after Mesa Air Group Incorporated said it swung to a fourth-quarter loss due in part to an 87 million dollar legal charge related to a lawsuit by Hawaiian Airlines. Mesa shares dropped 7 cents, or 2.6 percent, to $2.67.
A federal judge ordered Mesa to pay Hawaiian 80 million dollars for using confidential information it obtained from Hawaiian's bankruptcy proceedings.
Phoenix-based Mesa posted a loss of 68 million dollars, or $2.37 per share, in the three months ended September 30th. That compares with a profit of nearly 5 million dollars, or 12 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
