HONOLULU (AP) _ Construction of a 45 million dollar corridor for foreign arrivals at Honolulu International Airport is slated to begin later this month.
The walkway will replace the aging Wiki-Wiki bus service. It will be built on the third level of the Ewa Concourse, connecting Gates 26 through 34 to the International Arrivals Building.
The air-conditioned walkway will feature moving sidewalks, as well as closed-circuit TV cameras required by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The project is expected to take one year to complete.
The federal government is providing 10 million dollars, while the rest of the money is coming from the state.
