Obama has big lead in campaign contributions from Hawaii
|

HONOLULU (AP) _ Hawaii residents have donated 219-thousand dollars to presidential candidates as of June 30th, with island-born Barack Obama receiving about 45 percent of all the contributions.
That's according to the latest filings with the Federal Election Commission.
The Illinois senator has received 98-thousand dollars followed by fellow Democratic senators Hillary Rodham Clinton with 23-thousand dollars and John Edwards with 22-thousand dollars.
On the Republican side, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney leads the pack in Hawaii, with 18-thousand dollars. Senator John McCain was next among the Republicans, collecting 16-thousand dollars in the past six months.
Nationally, Clinton leads the way with 63 (m) million raised, followed by Obama's 59 (m) million and Romney's 44 (m) million.
