Aiona launches campaign for governor in 2010

HONOLULU (AP) _ Lieutenant Governor James ``Duke'' Aiona has his sights set on the 2010 gubernatorial race.
Aiona has filed organizational papers with the Campaign Spending Commission saying he's running for governor three years from now.
On Thursday the lieutenant governor is holding a 100-dollar a ticket fund-raiser at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It's dubbed ``Duke Aiona's Birthday Bash.'' Aiona turns 52 Friday. Events will also be held on Kauai, the Big Island and Maui.
Aiona is a former Family Court judge and deputy prosecutor. He has served as lieutenant governor under Governor Lingle since 2002.
