SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands (AP) _ A volcano on an uninhabited island in the Northern Mariana Islands has resume activity.
Residents with respiratory problems who live on the three most populated islands in the U-S commonwealth were advised to take extra care.
The Emergency Management Office says the activity on Anatahan Island led to a sulfurous odor and visibility of six miles or less across the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
In 2005, Anathan Volcano spewed ash as high as 50-thousand feet and deposited ash as far away as Palau and the Philippines.
