Inmates clean out Upper Hamakua Ditch

KOHALA MOUNTAINS, Hawaii (AP) _ Kulani Correctional Facility inmates have helped clean out the Upper Hamakua Ditch in the Big Island's Kohala Mountain. Kulani inmates recently finished two months of work clearing damage to the ditch caused by the October 15th earthquakes. The water from the upper ditch is flowing again to area farms and ranches. The normal flow of up to ten (m) million gallons a day dropped to zero following the quakes. (Copyright 2007 Associated Press. All rights reserved)
