Thieves steal $1 million in Prada shoes, wallets, clothes

HONOLULU (AP) _ More than one (m) million dollars worth of Prada merchandise was stolen from the upscale clothier's Kakaako warehouse in Honolulu.
The thieves stole shoes, wallets, clothes and other items after disabling the building's alarm system by cutting the cables and misdirecting the surveillance cameras.
The theft if the latest in a string of 19 burglaries in three months that might be linked.
Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Yu says the police are investigating to see if the burglaries are connected, but she declined further comment.
Other targeted businesses include Schwartz Jewelers on Bethel Street, Flex-A-Kid Furniture on Kapiolani Boulevard and Umeke Market on Kalanianaole Highway.
Prior to the Prada heist, the biggest take in the 19 burglaries was merchandise and cash valued at about 20-thousand dollars.
