School closures

This is an earthquake information as of October 16th, 2006 at 7:00pm.

This is a Civil Defense message.

This is a special report on school closures for Tuesday morning October 17th. Ms. Taketa of the Department of Education reports that the following schools are closed to all students.

Closures are for:

Hamakua

  • Honoka’a High, Intermediate, and Elementary

    Kohala

  • Kohala High, Middle, Elementary
  • Waikoloa Elementary
  • Waimea, Elementary

    Kona

  • Kealakehe Elementary
  • Kahakai Elementary

    Ka'u

  • Ka'u High School
  • Pahala Elementary
  • Na'alehu Elementary

    All teachers and staff report to their assigned schools.

    Closures beyond Tuesday, October 17, 2006 will be evaluated.
